What is the difference between the Castle Doctrine and “make my day” laws? Many state statutes are moving toward the “make my day” trend. Do you agree with the “make my day” laws or do you agree with the Castle Doctrine? Why? Use examples from your reading to support your answer.

What will be an ideal response?

These two concepts are closely related. Castle Doctrine examines the issue of retreat and dictates that one need not retreat in the home. Make my day laws, on the other hand, look at the use of force and allow for the use of any degree of force against intruders who might use physical force, no matter how slight, against any occupant of a home.
