Explain how groups and teams are similar to each other and are different from each other.
What will be an ideal response?
A group is a collection of individuals performing similar tasks in that when added together will help to further the overall goals of the group. A team is also a collection of individuals who work collaboratively and collectively to achieve commonly held goals or vision. Both are collections of individuals. However, in a team, the collaboration or idea of working together is stressed, as well as the common vision. In a group, it is a number of individuals whose work, when put all together or added up, leads to or achieves the overall goal or goals of the group, which may be the goal of the individual members. In teams, the members collaborate and cooperate in their work, and the team members themselves have developed and/or share a common goal.
