What will be an ideal response?

(1) Trial courts: Federal District Courts. These courts are the lowest level of court. Trials are presided over by one judge. (2) Intermediate appellate courts: Circuit Courts of Appeals. These intermediate courts normally sit in three-judge panels unless the entire circuit court sits en banc for an important case. These courts do not have original jurisdiction. (3) Court of last resort: U.S. Supreme Court. This court is the highest court in the federal system. This court has the ultimate authority on issues involving the U.S. Constitution and matters of federal law.
