? As we watch television we compare ourselves to television personalities, or guests on talk shows and either feel better about ourselves because we are not like them or work to emulate them by eating right, working out, or working on personality traits.
? In interpersonal communication we compare ourselves to our friends, coworkers or acquaintances. The concept is similar but it is executed differently.
