Describe suggestions made in this chapter to engage students and promote their thinking and problem-solving,

What will be an ideal response?

? Plan the types of questions you will ask, their level of difficulty, and the sequence in which you ask them.
? Deliver questions in a style that is concise, clear, and to the point
? Allow time for students to think (wait-time 1). Research suggests 3-4 seconds for lower-level questions and as much as 15 seconds for higher-level questions.
? Keep students in suspense. Deliver the question first, then call a student's name. and randomly select names. This increases accountability and maintains attention and alertness.
? Give the student sufficient time to complete his or her response before redirecting the question or probing (wait-time 2).
? Provide immediate feedback to the learner. Communicate to the learner that you heard and evaluated the answer. Incorrect, incomplete, or inadequate answers should be followed by a probe.
