Define pollution, pollutant, and nonbiodegradable

What will be an ideal response?

Pollution is "the presence of a substance in the environment that, because of its chemical composition or quantity, prevents the functioning of natural processes and produces undesirable environmental and health effects." A pollutant is "any material that causes the pollution." If a substance is nonbiodegradable it means that it "resists the attack and breakdown by detritus feeders and decomposers and consequently accumulates in the environment." Finally, the environment is "the whole context of human lifeā€”the physical, chemical, and biological setting of where and how people live."
