In Part5, because as mentioned above, a LSDB contains the link advertisements sent around the same area and each router holds an identical copy of this LSDB. Since all routers in this network are in only one area (Area 1), PC1, PC2, PC3, and PC4 have identical LSDBs, except for the LS age of each entry.In this experiment, depending on which area(s) the router is associated with, the database will contain routes for the corresponding area(s). For example, PC1 is an ABR for areas 0 and 1, so it contains routes to reach each node within these areas. Similarly, PC2 is an ABR for areas 0 and 2, and contains similar information for areas 0 and 2. But PC3 and PC4 are interior routers and contain only routes within areas 1 and 2 respectively. The type categories of the database are Router Link States (local), Net Link States (directly connected), Summary Link States (reachable subnets), and ASBR-Summary Link States (different areas). Different areas can be connected through the ABR, which is similar to a default gateway to anything outside of this AS. The ABR itself will know the routes to other AS, but not the internal routes of the AS. Once the packets reach the other AS, the ABR of the other AS will route the packets appropriately within the AS.
