A primed or enhanced seed has been soaked in salt solutions of potassium chloride (KCl)
or ethyl alcohol to activate the seed's growth hormones or enzymes to the seed radical
or young root to grow. By regulating the amount of moisture and chemical, growth of the
radical is stopped at a point where the seed may still be safely stored
