Explain the difference between casual and intimate relationships.

What will be an ideal response?

Intimate relationships have both breadth and depth, while casual relationships lack depth. In intimate relationships, people know a great deal of private information about each other and feel more affection for one another than for most people. They also trust one another more than in casual relationships and hope and expect the relationship will be permanent. People in intimate relationships have a sense of mutual sharing, disclosure, and respect, and they think of themselves as a unit more than those in a casual relationship would.
