Describe several categories of elder abuse
What will be an ideal response?
Answer: Elder abuse is maltreatment of an older adult. In most states it falls within three general categories. These include family or domestic elder abuse, institutional elder abuse, or self-neglect. Abuse of an older adult in a long-term care facility like a nursing home would be considered institutional abuse. Self-neglect is when an older adult threatens their own health and safety.
