Explain the findings of Myra and David Sadker's research into gender inequality in public schools
What will be an ideal response?
The Sadker's found that boys were much more likely than girls to call out answers to questions, and that the teachers were more likely to acknowledge them. Girls most often waited patiently with their hands raised. When girls did call out they were reprimanded in ways the boys were not. The Sadker's concluded that in school girls are systematically taught passivity, deference to the alleged superiority of boys, and a dislike of math and science.
