It stands for Lowering and raising emotional arousal. The purpose of this set of change techniques is to reduce the impact of negative emotions and increase positive emotions in three ways:
1. Reduce negative emotions such as depression, anger, fear, stress through stress reduction and cognitive techniques.
2. Facilitate the expression of strong emotions being ignored
3. Activate positive emotions such as gratitude, joy, interest, hope pride, love, and forgiveness.
