Provide an example that differentiates sensation from perception.

What will be an ideal response?

Sensation is the detection of environmental stimuli and transduction of that energy into neural signals. Perception, however, is the conscious experience of those stimuli. An example might be seeing colors, contrasts, contours, shapes, and light/dark (sensation). However, the perception might be seeing a person's bedroom.
