What are the steps involved in creation of grounded theory during case study research?
What will be an ideal response?
First the researcher starts with a research idea, and forms a plan including whether to use single- or multiple-case approach. Then the researcher identifies the location of the study, determines how to obtain access, and the data-collection strategies to use. The researcher collects data, and constantly compares and considers the data being unearthed. The researcher compares his/her own findings of data collected with assessments of other researchers and literature on the topic. The researcher reflects on the information collected, and the problem originally addressed to determine what the findings mean, and what their implications may be. Then the researcher is ready to offer a theoretical explanation for whatever problems or issues were being explored, described, or explained in the study.
