What is the meaning of Christian humanism? What were the goals of its adherents, and what did they accomplish?

What will be an ideal response?

Christian humanism was a northern European phenomenon. It featured the attempts of academic scholars to reconcile humanist ideas with those of Christianity and to place Christianity in a historical context. Christian humanists examined the language and texts of early Christianity and traced its evolution to their own day. They examined the translation of Christian documents from Greek into Latin, in terms of their accuracy, and began to issue new compilations and translations, which led to a new field known as patristics. Christian humanism became quite controversial because adherents questioned whether the church had deviated from its original intention and whether critical passages in scripture had been mistranslated, thus further diverging from the religion's initial goals.
