Are there sex differences between the West and East in the care of aging parents? Explain
What will be an ideal response?
Answer: In the West, females tend to be the ones who take primary responsibility for caring for aging parents. In contrast, in the East, the son is the one who cares for his aging parents because they live together. However, it is the wife who provides much of the daily assistance, and the son is more of a financial "provider." This trend is changing as a result of the "one child" policy; if the daughter is the only child, she will be the one who cares for her aging parents.
