Explain what occurs when a plant exhibits heliotropism. What will be an ideal response?

ANSWER: Leaves or flowers of some plants change position in response to the changing angle of the
sun throughout the day, a response called heliotropism (from Greek helios, sun). The
mechanism that drives heliotropism is not understood, but it may be similar to phototropism
because it has been observed to coincide with differential elongation of cells in stems, and it
also occurs in response to blue light.
