What will be an ideal response?
The trace command is useful for determining where in the process the communication is breaking down. The following responses can be returned by a trace:
• !H: Indicates that a router received, but did not forward, the ICMP echo request
• P: Protocol unreachable
• N: Network unreachable
• U: Port unreachable
• *: Request timed out
