What is an IEP? What purpose does it serve?
What will be an ideal response?
IEP’s are a written-out plan, written by a trained IEP team and the child’s parents AFTER the student has gone through a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA). IEP’s must contain the present the current level the student is at, but also the annual goals and future benchmarks that the student should meet by the end of the school year. The IEP should also contain information as to why the student is not participating in the general classroom.
