Explain the metaphor of fascia as a knitted sweater
What will be an ideal response?
Answer: Fascia is sometimes compared to a knitted sweater. In a sweater all of the strands of yarn are connected in interwoven patterns, and a pull in one section of a sweater causes a pull in the entire sweater, affecting spots distant from the original pull. This distorts the entire sweater. Fascia is like this in connecting the entire body with winding sheets, and a distortion or adhesion in one place causes distortion throughout and at distant points in the body.
