MEA stands for Membrane Electrode Assembly. A MEA consists of a diffuser/conduction plate (interconnect/bipolar), anode, electrolyte, and cathode. The MEA then ties into the next MEA to form a repeating stack that starts with a plate to supply the first anode and ends with the plate supplying the last cathode.
