Discuss the guidelines and procedures in single-subject research.
What will be an ideal response?
Ans: The first step is selection and identification of the target behavior. Key in this identification is selection of the goal and outcome(s) desired. The outcome or goal for single-subject research is written or expressed in terms of behavioral outcomes (Barlow et al., 2009). A second step is the clarification of the baseline and measurement of the baseline. Barlow et al. (2009) stated that there are two purposes of establishing a baseline in single-subject research: descriptive and predictive.
