There was an increase in consumer goods that were affordable, meaning that the lower classes could afford to participate in this cultural transformation rather than being excluded, as was traditionally the case. Transportation became easier, and goods, as well as people, could move across vast distances much faster. There was an increase in the growth of the middle classes, who moved up the economic ladder. Last, for some workers, the Industrial Revolution made it possible for them to receive greater wages through specialization of skilled labor.
