Explain the differences between conducting an initial interview with a plaintiff spouse and a defendant spouse.

What will be an ideal response?

The first aspect might be the emotional effect. The plaintiff spouse is expecting his or her life to improve, while the defendant spouse may not want the divorce at all. Another issue may be timing – if we are bringing the suit, we must do a great deal of preparation. If, however, the suit has been filed against the client, we will need to see the papers, find out the date of service, and respond within the jurisdictional response limits.
