Please discuss some of the main differences between forensic and therapeutic clinicians.
What will be an ideal response?
First, therapeutic clinicians are responsible primarily to their patients, while forensic clinicians are responsible to a third party. Forensic clinicians will have to have training in forensic evaluations and providing expert testimony. Therapeutic clinicians might have significant observations for the client, but an evaluator in a forensic role is likely to have a significantly larger and more comprehensive “data set” which allows the evaluator to form a more objective impression.
