Such organizations focus on the trial court level, but they are part of a general movement seeking greater openness in government decision making at all levels. The statistical measurement of court performance is another area that is receiving increased attention. Also, research also suggests that the innovative use of audio and video technology can preserve far more evidence and trial detail than written records, making a comprehensive review of cases easier for appellate judges.
