An autopsy is to determine the time and precise cause of death. The autopsy may also answer the following questions:
1. What type of weapon was employed?
2. If multiple wounds were inflicted, which wound was fatal?
3. How long did the victim live after the injury?
4. What position was the victim in at the time of the assault?
5. From what direction was the force applied?
6. Is there any evidence of a struggle or self-defense?
7. Is there any evidence of rape or other sex-related acts?
8. Was the deceased under the influence of alcohol or any type of drug? (The actual analysis will be done by the toxicologist.)
