Although creativity has been associated with both genetics and core aspects of personality (Liu et al., 2016; Zabelina et al., 2016), we can also look at creativity more broadly. Using Theresa Amabile's (1996) componential model of creativity, give an example of a setting where creative behavior can be promoted. Integrate the three components identified by Amabile to describe social, psychological, and physical elements that can be combined in the setting you chose.

What will be an ideal response?

Student answers will vary according to the situations in which they choose to implement the componential model of creativity. All answers should include the following three components, and the integration of these into the chosen environment should tie back to these components and the social, psychological, and physical elements: (1) Domain-relevant skills: knowledge, technical skills, talent. (2) Creativity-relevant skills: personal factors (e.g., tolerance for ambiguity, self-discipline, willingness to take risks). (3) Task motivation: creativity is more likely if one is driven by enjoyment and passion than by external factors such as money and praise.
