Analyze the use of strategies in young children.
What will be an ideal response?
Younger children need time and practice in order to spontaneously use strategies. They need to have the strategies in their long-term memory in order to be able to use them. They also need to be motivated to use the strategy. Research suggests that younger children use more than one strategy; they often benefit from generating several strategies and trying them to see which works best for what problem and at what time.
