Briefly explain Vygotsky’s view on how language is related to social development.
What will be an ideal response?
Social development is inseparable from cognitive and language development. It is through language that the child’s mind is “joined” with the minds of others to gain insight into the world. A basic premise of Vygotsky’s theory is that all uniquely human, higher forms of mental activity are jointly constructed and transferred to children through dialogues with other people.
