Discuss as many instances as you can as to how and why non-native English speakers

particularly can benefit from the use of presentation aids.

What will be an ideal response?

Student may note the same reasons presentation aids assist all speakers, including that
audiences find visual elements a helpful component to any speech, increasing clarity.
This is very useful for non-native speakers concerned about pronunciation and
articulation, as it provides more than one way for the audience to understand the
information. Presentation aids make a speech more interesting and retains the
audience?s interest, sending their message through more than one sensory channel,
increasing retention of the material.  In addition, they increase speaker credibility and
help the speaker feel more confident and self-assured. For non-native speakers
particularly, aids give the audience another place on which to focus their attention.
Further, aids can be used to express universal messages which enrich a speech and are
common throughout cultures. Non-native speakers can also draw upon their own
culture to share with the audience information that is unique through traditional and/or
personal artwork, photos, and objects.
