Describe an objection a parent might have to a practice in an early childhood program and how a teacher can effectively work to overcome it.
What will be an ideal response?
A parent might object to how much of the time their child is spending in self-directed, hands-on activity rather than receiving direct instruction or completing worksheets. To overcome this objection, a teacher can share information with the parent about research into child cognitive development and developmentally appropriate practice and show the parent examples of how his or her child’s skills have improved.
