Explain how broader contexts of development influence microsystems and individual outcomes.

What will be an ideal response?

The presence of exosystems such as parental employment is not as important to development as the indirect influence on the child via job satisfaction and stress. In addition, parental work involves child care, whose quality is related to school outcomes. The macrosystem of SES and neighborhoods also has an influence, as do ethnicity and cultural values, which predict school involvement and therefore academic outcomes.
