They include problems with cognition that are manifested in problems with thinking and
perceiving. Speech and language of the affected individual are also impacted. The
affected individual may struggle not only with the production of understandable speech,
but he or she may struggle with producing meaningful speech and language. The
individual may know what he or she wants to say, but be unable to say it. Social and
behavior problems are evident as well. These may be manifest in increased irritability,
significant changes in the personality of the affected individual, and compromised
motivation, to mention only a few. Neuromotor and physical problems may be evident.
Impaired eye-hand coordination, vision problems, and paralysis may be present.
