The TNM system is a classification system for cancer. It is used to describe the size of a tumor and whether the tumor has spread to lymph nodes and other sites. T stands for tumor size, N stands for node (the number of regional lymph nodes affected), and M stands for the presence or absence of metastases to other sites in the body.
