Describe the process involved with writing an effective essay response on a test
What will be an ideal response?
There are three main steps involved in writing a good essay response. Planning is the first step and it involves having a good grasp of the question and thinking about how you want to respond. You should spend about one fifth of the time you have available in this part of the process. The next step is writing. During this step, you should start with a strong opening that is directly connected to the question, followed by your main ideas, supporting details and then a strong conclusion that summarizes your key points. The last step is proofreading where you will check your response for spelling, grammar and organizational structure. You should spend about one fifth of the time on this step.
