The transdiagnostic approach assumes that most psychological disorders are actually different manifestations of a few core underlying dimensions. It divides disorders into two categories, internalizing disorders, such as depressive and anxiety disorders, and externalizing disorders, such as antisocial, conduct, substance use, and impulsivity related disorders.
