How does the original definition of rape differ from the current definition of rape?

The original definition of rape required that someone have “carnal knowledge” of a
woman who was not married to the perpetrator. The current definition of rape does not
limit it to women, both men and women can be victims of rape. Additionally, husbands
can now be charged as perpetrators of rape.
