Essays should compare the similar positions about objectivity of positivist and systems paradigms who assert that an objective reality that can be observed does exist. This gives rise to the use of quantitative data for describing that reality. Interpretive and critical researchers, on the other hand, reject the concept of the objective reality. Instead they assert that reality is socially constructed. This gives rise to the use of qualitative data for describing the multiple realities and in the case of critical researchers, unearthing oppressive realities.
