How does a ligament differ from a tendon?

What will be an ideal response?

Ligaments resemble tendons, but they function solely to connect one bone to another. Ligaments may contain significant numbers of elastic as well as collagen fibers, and therefore can tolerate a modest amount of stretching.
Elastic ligaments have a higher proportion of elastic fibers and are found in such locations as along the spinal column, to stabilize the positions of the vertebrae.
