Define noncontingent reinforcement and list the disadvantages of this behavior reduction strategy

What will be an ideal response?

Noncontingent reinforcement provides reinforcement that is maintaining the behavior independent of the
inappropriate behavior. NCR serves to disassociate the reinforce from the behavior. Reinforcement is delivered on a specified time schedule. Problems associated with NCR include the lack of strengthing of any behaviors. The idea behind reinforcement is an increase in behavior, however because reinforcement is delivered based on time alone and not the presence or absence of a behavior no specific behavior is increased. NCR may also inadvertently reinforce other inappropriate behaviors.
