The organizational structure and management provide the necessary support for the salespeople and buyers in a partnering relationship. All employees in a firm need to accept the salesperson's and buyer's roles in developing a partnership. Partnerships created at headquarters should be recognized and treated as such by local offices, and vice versa. Without the support of the respective companies, a partnership is destined to fail. The issue isn't just creating a culture among salespeople, however. The entire firm must have an orientation to building partnerships.
