Practice to promote memorization of basic facts can be provided using paired practice in which students work with each other, teacher-directed practice in which the teacher presents facts to a group, worksheet exercises, flash card exercises, fact games, and computer-based activities. Newly introduced facts require intensive practice to memorize, while previously introduced facts require less intensive practice. All facts need to be systematically practiced.
