Describe which variables are set by the operator and how the other variables are set in pressure-controlled ventilation in the CMV mode.

What will be an ideal response?

In PCV CMV a set (operator) pressure is targeted and sustained by the ventilator for a set TIĀ  period. Also, the rate, TI or I:E ratio are set by the operator. The VT and flow rate delivered by the ventilator are variable, and are dependent on the pressure level set and the patient's lung characteristics. The ventilator may be time or patient triggered and delivers a DRFW in a manner that will reach and sustain the set pressure level set.
