Why are flowering plants considered by many botanists to be the most successful land plants?

What will be an ideal response?

The best responses should include similarities and differences between gymnosperms and angiosperms. Both gymnosperms and angiosperms have a dominant sporophyte generation, vascular tissue, pollen, and seeds. Angiosperms, however, have flowers to enhance pollination (often specific for a certain pollinator) and fruits to facilitate embryo dispersal.
