Discuss the teaching profession trends in the United States

What will be an ideal response?

The majority of public school teachers in the US workforce are older than 40 years of age, with the average age of 42 . About 83 percent are white, which is a decline from 90 percent in 2001 (National Education Association, 2013). Given the increasing diversity of US students, many educators believe that US schools have an urgent need for young teachers from varied ethnic backgrounds. One figure that has changed in recent decades is the proportion of males in the teaching force and while that percentage has increased in the twenty-first century, some data show that the number of male teachers has declined to around 16 percent in 2011 (Feistritzer, 2011).?
