All of the laboratory findings are within normal limits, except for the potassium, which is slightly
low. Hypokalemia can put the patient at risk of digoxin toxicity. Conversely, if potassium is high it
can decrease the effect of digoxin. Potassium levels should be monitored carefully, especially if the
patient is on a non–potassium sparing diuretic such as furosemide.
