Compare and contrast closed-ended questions and open-ended questions for gathering data
What will be an ideal response?
Closed-ended questions, which include all the possible answers, make it easier for respondents to choose among relevant answers. They are also easier for the researcher to interpret and tabulate. Open-ended questions, on the other hand, allow respondents to answer in their own words and do not limit their choices. Open-ended questions are more difficult to interpret and tabulate, but they are particularly useful in exploratory research.
