Compare and contrast the reading and writing processes
What will be an ideal response?
Just as the elements of reading and traits of quality writing can be interwoven, there are benefits to recognizing the interconnections between the reading and writing processes. Prereading and prewriting require learners to engage in similar activities. Reading and drafting align. Readers have a response to the text, and writers seek a response to their texts. Readers revisit text to monitor and explore, while writers revisit text to clarify and expand. Writers edit and publish in order to make their material more accessible; ideally, readers receive text and apply it to their lives.
