Discuss writer credibility for persuasive messages. Mention where credibility comes from and levels of credibility for different audiences

Credibility is the level of believability and trust you have earned from your reader. The greater your credibility, the more trust a reader places in your message. Credibility comes from various sources. You may have credibility by virtue of holding a particular position within an organization or because you are a well-known authority or expert in an area. Credibility also comes from experience in providing convincing evidence, such as facts and verifiable statistics, in your documents. A writer might need to establish credibility with individuals who are not familiar with him or her, whereas a person's credibility with close colleagues at work is probably already established.
